Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions our customers ask most often.
Who owns Bench 359 and how long have you served Asheville?
Bench 359 is a family-owned, Asheville-rooted company founded in 1999. Our crew of seven combines local knowledge with licensed training — including an ACE entomologist on staff — so we understand mountain microclimates from the French Broad River flats up to the ridgelines.
What’s the difference between your Basic, Premium and Ultimate plans?
Basic is a quarterly exterior barrier focused on foundation and entry points; Premium adds monthly interior attention and broader coverage for roaches and ants; Ultimate bundles monthly service with termite monitoring, seasonal mosquito/tick treatments and rodent-exclusion checks. Each plan includes free callbacks between scheduled visits and a documented walkaround on start-up.
What happens during a typical service visit and how do you document issues?
Technicians perform an exterior perimeter treatment, check common ingress points, and address any interior hotspots requested on Premium plans. We photograph notable findings (moisture, gaps, harborage), leave a brief report and treatment sticker, and explain simple exclusion or landscaping fixes tailored to your lot — riverfront yards get different recommendations than ridge-top properties.
What are your hours and how fast can you respond to a wasp or rodent emergency?
Our regular hours are Mon–Fri 7:00 AM–6:00 PM and Sat 8:00 AM–1:00 PM; we maintain a 24/7 on-call line for active stinging insect and rodent emergencies. For dangerous nests or aggressive rodent activity we aim for same-day or next-available response, and we’ll triage calls to protect people and pets first.
If I sell my house, does your termite bond transfer to the new owner?
Yes — our termite bond is typically transferable to a buyer, subject to a review inspection and an administrative transfer fee. The bond continues to include annual inspections and monitoring; if repairs are required we coordinate next steps and provide documentation useful for a closing or buyer’s inspection.
How much does a typical residential pest plan cost?
Our residential plans range to fit different needs: basic quarterly perimeter plans typically run in the $45–$120/month range depending on property size, premium monthly service runs higher, and one-time knockdowns start around $150–$350. We always provide a site-specific quote after a free walkaround so pricing reflects Asheville lot type and pest pressure.
Are your treatments safe for my dog and backyard vegetable garden?
Yes — safety is a priority. We follow an IPM-first approach and are GreenPro-certified, using reduced-risk materials and targeted spot applications by default. Technicians will mark treated areas, explain any short re-entry intervals, and offer pet-safe or organic options when a garden or young children are involved.
